NexGen Four™

Overview

Nexgen Four is a fully automated, open-system, 4-plate analyzer capable to perform tests in parallel according to any assays procedures provided by reagents’ manufacturers.

The instrument, which is able to process up to four microplates simultaneously is managed by two computers and is composed by the following keys elements:

  • one centrally located sample carousel
  • two independent pipetting robotic arms
  • four separate incubators
  • two independent photometers
  • two washing stations

Nexgen Four is a novel instrument deriving from the expertise developed by ADALTIS over the past 15 years through more than 4.000 automated analyzers installed in nearly 60 countries world wide.

Thanks to its 4 microplates available simultaneously, Nexgen Four is particularly suited for large clinical labs and blood banks that perform extensive screening tests such as HIV, HBV, HCV, Syphilis and others.

Capacity

  • 4 microplates
  • 360 tests/session approximately
  • Up to 16 different assays in the same work session
  • Sample carousel: 120 + 120 tubes

Technical features

The internal bar code reader allows the primary tubes identification while an external bar code reader allows the identification and the positioning of the reagents.

4 independent incubators, 2 separate washing stations, 2 photometer units with a spectral range between 400 and 700 nm and 2 separate reagent-loading systems for on-board assays.

The Nexgen Four is equipped with dual robotics pipetting arms. The two arms allow dispensing samples and reagents in 2 microplates simultaneously.

The Nexgen Four allows you to use simultaneously the plastic disposable tip and the metal needle.

The sample carousel holds 120 primary tubes and 120 additional tubes for pre-dilution. The addition of further sample-holder sectors can take place during the testing routine through the continuous loading.

Customers interface

The operator can monitor from a distance the instrument by means of alarms through the LAN or Internet.

Nexgen Four is managed by two computers, one internal and one external, run by the proprietary OpenLab software developed under Windows XP and .Net framework *
The OpenLab suite has an easy to learn and intuitive interface that reduces the need of having in depth training and instrument dedicated staff.
